From the West
Brethren,
This is my last input as your Senior Warden. The Brothers of Collington Lodge
#230 have seen fit to elect me to be their new Worshipful Master. I accept this
election with confidence that we will continue our Lodge’s emphasis on
Friendship, Morality, and Brotherly Love.
But we should also devote our works during 2007 with emphasis on the three Tenets of
Freemasonry - Brotherly Love, Relief, and Truth. We are already very active in the
first two - through Lodge meetings, lunches, dinners, and our efforts to support
C. Elizabeth Rieg School through our fundraising activities (not mention ringing
bells for the Salvation Army at Christmas time). We also get out into the
community for other events, such as laying wreaths at Bowie’s Veterans Park and
marching in the annual Memorial Day Parade.
The third Tenet - Truth - requires extra work - and your help. To help the public understand
Freemasonry, we should now invite the community in to visit us. My plan is for
2007 to be the year we invite the community in to see our meeting place and to
talk to Masons about Freemasonry. However, to do this, your Lodge needs your
help and expertise. We need members who are interested or experienced in the
following areas:
● Developing Programs
● Public Relations
● Publishing
● Photography
● History
● Research
● Food preparation
These are just a few of the areas we need help with. Please consider joining us in any of these functions. Contact
either Bro Jackie Calloway by email at
JMC7LAT@cs.com or phone at 301-262-3457, or me at
rdenmark2@comcast.net or phone at 301-464-3474.
Don’t’ forget, we have an Open Installation of officers at Centennial Lodge in Upper Marlboro on January 6
beginning at 10:00 AM. Invite your friends and families to this event. Hope to see you there.
I'll see you in Lodge.
Fraternally,
Ray Denmark
Senior Warden
